1989 World Series







I remember exactly where I was. The planet could not handle a World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A's! It shook the bay area to its core. My old man told me he was at a shop in Vallejo drinking a beer after work and watching the game. He said he felt the earthquake, then saw a 3 foot wave under the earth coming towards him. He just stepped over it and it kept going, thrashing buildings and cars along the way. Kinda crazy...

I will never forget that, I always wondered why they called it Candlestick park. I lived in Atlanta, I watched on TV. I moved back to CA the following year.
