From the magic of the internet (JJ), we learned that this bike was supposedly in an early '80s issue of Iron Horse mag. We found out that it was in the June '81 of Iron Horse, and it was soon purchased and shipped to my house for examination. Today, I received said magazine and was totally blown away at what we found. Below is the article:

If you appreciate the history that vintage choppers barn finds sometimes have, I reccomend you read the story above. Ill try to post some updated pics of the bike this week after I get some better ones. The bike was purchased missing very few parts and will be returned to its former glory. Clean, adjust, lube, and ride.
The bike was built in Canoga Park, Ca in late 1980. In 1980, D-Smoke was a snot nosed 3 year old living just mere blocks from the Santee warehouse where it was built. Coincidence? No, it was fate.

WOW, what a KICK ASS find, and fucking GREAT shape, too.
Thank you! Big thanks to Jordan Graham for leading me to it and Shifthead Rob for putting the pieces to the puzzle together and discovering a little bit of the rich history this bike has to offer! Oh yeah, and beautiful job Bob Bell and Santee!
